Student Spotlight: Jyline Carranza

Tell us about yourself.
My name is Jyline Carranza and I graduated from The Catholic University of America with a Bachelor’s in Music. After graduation I was a teacher with a program called “Theatre for Change” which provided Music and Theatre classes to ESOL students, all of whom were new to the US. Alongside this I performed in different venues in Washington D.C. such as The Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, and Signature Theatre.

I decided on attending the One-Year MBA program because I was really interested in learning how businesses can incorporate sustainability, specifically social sustainability, within their companies. My career goals coming out of this program are to work in Public Relations, specifically with the music/theatre industry in Washington D.C.

If I was able to, I would spend all my time at the beach. It’s extremely relaxing.

Who inspires you to be better?
My mom inspires me to be better. She immigrated from Guatemala to provide me with a better education. I hope to be half the woman she is.
