Tell us about yourself.
My name is Olivia Quirici and I’m from a small town in Connecticut. It was a great experience to move from such rural town to a city like Pittsburgh to attend Duquesne, from which I recently graduated with an Accounting degree. I chose this program because I am passionate about creating sustainability and innovation. Outside the classroom, I enjoy hiking, exploring the city (especially for good restaurants), and playing with dogs! I’m excited to see what the next year in this program has in store for me.
What is one of your favorite things to do in Pittsburgh?
I love exploring the city! It’s so exciting to experience city life, being from such a small town. Pittsburgh is unlike any other city and there’s something new to discover every day.
What skill would I like to master?
For my fellowship, I am learning the basics of coding. This is something I would like to learn a lot more about in the coming years and hopefully “master” the skill.
What could you give a 30-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
Recommending sushi restaurants. I like to think I’ve tried every sushi restaurant in Pittsburgh, and would love to find some more hidden gems!
What’s the best way to start the day?
Sitting outside on a sunny day, drinking coffee or tea!
What drew you to this program?
As I mentioned above, I am extremely passionate about sustainability and innovation which is something I feel lacks in a typical business education. I wanted to learn more about sustainable business practices in hopes to make the business world “greener” and more accountable place.
