Student Spotlight: Tori Trott

Tell us about yourself.
Hi! My name is Victoria Trott, however I like to go by Tori. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. Given my love for this city, I decided to stay here for college. I went to Duquesne University for my undergraduate degree, studying Management and Marketing. I had such a great experience at Duquesne that I decided to come back and pursue my MBA-SBP! After I received my undergraduate degree, I worked in finance for a year, however I would like to switch career paths and get my foot in the door within Medical Sales. I have always had a passion for the healthcare industry, as well as sales, and would love to start a future within this field.

What is one of your favorite things to do in Pittsburgh?
My favorite things to do in Pittsburgh would definitely be attending Steeler games. With being born and raised in Pittsburgh I have always loved the Steelers and have grown up watching them play. I always have so much fun cheering on the Steelers with my friends and family and the atmosphere at the games makes for such a fun time!

What are you most looking forward to in the MBA-SBP Program
What I am most looking forward to in the MBA-SBP program is the study abroad trip. I have a passion for traveling and love to experience new cultures and meet new people. I think it is important to travel and see the world outside of the bubble you are familiar with. I also think it is a great experience to be able to network and work with a company overseas and see how they operate. I have always dreamed of moving to a new country and working over there for a few years, and with this experience, it will allow me to gain new insights of business abroad. This year my program will be taking a trip to Portugal. I have never been to Portugal, so I am extremely excited to see what this country has to offer!

Who inspires you do be better?
My mom inspires me to be better. She has such a strong work ethic and passion for helping others. She is one of my biggest supporters and I always want to make her proud!

Where would you spend all of your time if you could?
I would definitely spend all of my time in Tampa, Florida. I love the beach and love Florida’s weather. I am starting to not like the cold and snow as much, now that I have been dealing with it for the past 23 years!

What is the best way to start the day?
I think the best way to start the day is definitely with coffee, or tea. It helps me wake up and be ready to tackle the day! If I don’t have it, my day feels off and throughout the day I feel tired.
