Student Spotlight: Nick Gilmore

Tell us about yourself.
My name is Nick Gilmore. I am from Rochester, New York and just recently graduated from Duquesne with a BA in Supply Chain Management. I chose this program because I have an interest in sustainable business solutions that will ultimately make an impact in the surrounding community. I believe incorporating sustainability in businesses is only going to become more prevalent in the coming future, and I am excited to be a part of that growth!

What skill would you like to master?
One skill I would like to master is playing the piano. My dad has been playing his entire life and has been in multiple bands so I think it would be cool to follow after him and learn it myself as well.

What is the best way to start the day?
I believe the best way to start the day is to go to the gym and workout. I think this gives you energy throughout the entire day and is a great way to wake someone up.

Where would you spend all of your time if you could?
I would spend a lot of time on the golf course. I am pretty bad at the moment, but I have begun to really enjoy playing, so I would love the opportunity to play more and learn more about the game.

Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
The most interesting place I have been is Puerto Rico. I was lucky to make some Puerto Rican friends at Duquesne, so I had the opportunity to visit them last year. I loved the culture there and learned a lot while I was visiting.

What is one of your favorite things to do in Pittsburgh?
One of my favorite things to do in Pittsburgh is walking around Market Square. I love going there to try new food or sit at a table on a nice day.
