Tell us about yourself.
Hello! My name is Brett Hoffman and I was born and raised here in Pittsburgh. I earned my BSBA from Duquesne and am a recent graduate having graduated May 2019. I double majored in Finance and Management. I am looking forward to using the knowledge from those majors and building upon them, while learning more and expanding my knowledge of the inner workings of businesses and how to run a successful business. When I am not in class I enjoy spending time with friends and being active outside.
What are you most looking forward to in the MBA-SBP program?
I am looking forward to the client projects that we will be doing with our group, and the hands-on knowledge and experience that I will gain from these projects. I am also looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the topics that were covered in my bachelor’s degree and being able to apply these in real-world situations.
Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
The most interesting place I have been is Rome, Italy. I studied abroad in Rome my spring semester of sophomore year and it was remarkable. There is so much rich history in Rome, ranging from the hundreds of churches that contain priceless artifacts, to museums with paintings from famous artists through different time periods.
What is the best way to start the day?
I like to start my days off by waking up and going for a run and follow that up with a healthy breakfast and coffee.
Who inspires you to be better?
My parents inspire me to be the best person I can be and to work hard in everything that I do.
What could you give a 30-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
I could give a presentation on how to train for road races and triathlons and the many different ways you can train for them. Including the types of workouts and dieting needed to be successful in a chosen race.
Very interesting interview with such an intelligent, health conscious, articulate graduate student. I know
how industrious you have always been and that’s just one reason you will undoubtedly be successful. Wishing you much success at school. Harry and Karen.
