Student Spotlight: Luke Stevenson

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Luke Stevenson, I am 22 years old and from a small town in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. I am very excited to be living in the city since I have lived in a very rural area all of my life. I studied at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), where I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in economics. I was lead to the MBA-SBP program, by its great reputation and from a fellow IUP alumni who kept me informed on what he was doing while completing the program. My career goals coming out of this program are to find a job I am passionate about while improving society.

What is one of your favorite things to do in Pittsburgh?

My favorite thing to do is go to any sporting event. I have been to multiple Steelers and Pirates games and I hope for next season I will be able to attend my first hockey game and get to see the Penguins play.

What could you give a 30-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation

I would give a presentation on the TV show, Game of Thrones. It is my favorite show, and was the only show I could binge watch without getting board.

What is the best way to start the day?

I like to start my day off with a cup of coffee and a good breakfast (my favorite meal of the day). Also, I like to exercise early in the morning or just go outside if its nice out.

Where would you spend all of your time if you could?

I would spend all my time on a beach. I think it’s very relaxing plus I love to be outside.

Who inspires you to be better?

My parents inspire me to be better. Throughout my life they have invested so much in me, have always been there for me, and supported all of my decisions in life.
